F6 Service Call: What is warning you about & how to resolve it
Sometimes, a miscommunication can occur between the printer and your computer. This cause corrupt data to stay on buffer, leading to the display of the general error F6 on the shortee2 Printhead Control Panel. In order to remove this error, follow the steps described below:
STEP 1
Once the error message is shown on the top panel, remove the USB or the LAN cable.
Note: Depending on the data cable you choose, pay attention to the following:
- USB: Make sure it’s less than 2m long, otherwise it can cause data corruption.
- LAN: It’s better to connect your printer directly to your computer and not via router .
Keep in mind that you may have to replace your data cable if frequent issues occur.
Caution: After the F6 error, the printhead is most likely unlocked. Make sure that you proceed according to the steps below, in order to be electronically locked after the process.
STEP 2.a
Restart the printer, without the data cable on. Perform a Nozzle Check. If your printer was unable to print the nozzle test sheet and the F6 error is displayed again, then the issue is most likely mechanical.
Please contact our support team Customer Support or your local dealer to help resolve the issue.

STEP 2.b
If the Nozzle Check was performed correctly, then most possibly the issue was caused by your data cable. Replace the cable.
STEP 3
Make sure you have the latest updates in Digital Factory Apparel Polyprint Edition v10 software. It is also recommended to reinstall the DFAPE v10 at the same time you replace your data cable.
